This 1905 hotel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is formerly a governor's mansion. The manor is constructed of gneiss stone, which was quarried on the property, and California redwoods. Original wallpaper frames the main staircase. Most of the light fixtures, ornamental sycamore woodwork and intricately designed ceilings are original to the mansion. The landscaped gardens preserve the initial footprint of the estate. This smoke-free hotel boasts a library, terrace, restaurant and spa. Prix fixe four-course dinners are served at the Castle Hill Restaurant, which specializes in French-influenced New American cuisine.
