The Il Monastero is a converted Monastery dating back to 1800 located in the Germeas area between the mountains and sea and 25 kilometres from historical Cagliari. The 39 guestrooms are individually designed with wooden and iron furniture to complement the monastery's ancient stone walls, stone flooring and coloured plasters. They are all equipped with air conditioning, direct-dial phones, satellite television and private bathrooms. After a hearty breakfast, guests can soak the sun by the hotel's swimming pool and order drinks from the American Bar or go directly to the Kala e Moru beach that is 300 metres away with its two kilometres' stretch of white sand. Many guests also take the time to explore the monastery's ancient architectural features and relax in its quite and extensive gardens. As for dining, guests can sample the Sardinian cuisine in the restaurants and enjoy the dance and music entertainment offered by the hotel on some nights. Whilst the multilingual staff can always advise on sightseeing opportunities and offer airport transport (at surcharge) for those who need it. The hotel's location means that guests are only 300 metres away from a blue flag beach, 1 kilometre away from the Sette Fratelli Naturalistic Park, 21 kilometres from Villasimius Marine Park and 25 kilometres to Cagliari's historic capital town. Alternatively, guests can take the train to Cagliari station which is then 25 kilometres (15 miles) away and from where guests can take the bus to get to the hotel in Geremeas. Driving directions: From the Airport, follow the directions for Cagliari and then turn towards Villasimius.
